Please be aware of our upcoming volunteer resources seminar! It will be held on November 19 and will be conducted online at 5:00 pm. Event Details Tentative time and date: Wednesday November 19 at 5:00pm Description: Many volunteering opportunities have vanished from our community upon the arrival of the pandemic. However, we are not discouraged from moving forward! Know that PMSA is with you, and we will find what we can do with our current circumstances and how to make the best out of them together. In this seminar, we will present plentiful volunteer resources and executive testimonials that will benefit your medical school application! Volunteer Opportunity Crisis Text Line Position: Crisis Counselor Location: online Time Commitment: 4 hours per week, 30 hours of training is required Link: https://www.crisistextline.org/become-a-volunteer/ Description: "Crisis Text Line is the free, 24/7 text line for people in crisis in the United States. The service is powered by volunteer Crisis Counselors who work remotely—anywhere with a computer and secure internet connection works. Crisis Counselors answer texts from people in crisis, bringing them from a hot moment to a cool calm through active listening, collaborative problem solving, and safety planning." Scholarship Opportunity The Atila Science and Engineering STEM Scholarship: https://atila.ca/scholarship/atila-science-and-engineering-stem-scholarship-sj1i30zi The deadline is Saturday, November 14, 2020 and the funding amount is $200. It's open to any university student in Canada who is currently studying or planning to study in a science, engineering or any STEM related field. Find more details in the link provided!
