Hello members!
Message from Presidents Hi everyone, On behalf of the Pre-Medical Students’ Association (PMSA), I’d just like to apologize for the inappropriate behavior performed by some of the participants on yesterday’s Introduction Seminar. I’d like to make it clear that PMSA and the University of Alberta have no tolerance for harassment and misconduct of any sort. Presenting online will always come with difficulties and unexpected challenges, and again, I apologize for the misconduct that took place. Our mission at PMSA is to create a safe and welcoming community filled with resources for all students at the University of Alberta interested in pursuing a MD and I’m afraid that was compromised today. I apologize to all participants, PMSA members, the executive team and our speaker, Dr. Jillian Schneider. I truly appreciate your patience, time and support. Though disappointed, we are not discouraged. I promise you that we will work hard and ensure everyone is respected and has access to our resources in future events. Some changes have been made in regards to our seminar format and will be continued to be made in preparation for our upcoming seminars. We’d like to invite everyone to sign up on our mailing list using their uAlberta email address for more information regarding further seminars as well as our next steps: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeUypBLuypXJiqwhw-JnhnOGKtu4z2gubEvrzymZ_gtM_ptkA/viewform?usp=sf_link As current and future colleagues, we are here to support anyone who needs it.
