Hailey and the Friends Across Campus Team An opportunity to shadow doctors and travel to Italy this summer Hi PMSA, Are you looking for a pre-health study abroad opportunity? Our shadowing program will be a unique opportunity for students on a pre-health track to gain first-hand knowledge from Italian healthcare professionals who were on the first line during the unprecedented COVID 19 epidemic. The program features 2 to 5 weeks in Rome with an all-inclusive tuition, 40 to 90 hours of AAMC-compliant shadowing in multiple medical specialties, cultural immersion and excursions with the support of expert local staff. The program is offered in collaboration with Doctors in Italy - the Italian Association of English-speaking doctors - and John Cabot University - an American university in Rome, hosting more than 500 study abroad students from the US each semester. Tuition fees vary depending on the length of the program. Financial aid can often be obtained by working with the study abroad advisors. We also offer some scholarships to successful applicants. Our fellows come from: Cornell University, Gettysburg College, Ithaca College, Knox College, Saint Mary’s College, Southeastern University, Tennessee Technological University, and University of Maryland. You can find at this link a pdf file with highlights of the program whereas here you have a link to our Website where students can apply for the program and all the most updated information will be published. Feel free to share this information with your colleagues or through your university’s listserv. We would like to schedule a virtual meeting with you to discuss further the program and the early bird discounts that your students can benefit from at this stage. Please check our Calendar here and book the time slot that better suits your schedule. Best, Doctors in Italy Medical Science Workshop - TeamUP Science Hello PMSA, My name is Shezel and I am the Vice President External of TeamUP Science at the University of Alberta. We put on STEAM related events/workshops for youth. One of our most popular events of the year, the Medical Sciences Workshop (MSW) is happening on February 6th and 7th and is a great opportunity for students to explore different fields in the health sciences such as medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, nursing, paramedics and more! This workshop is great for those who may be thinking about these fields for their future and can really help guide their decisions when applying to medical school or other post-secondary programs. We have altered our event this year to ensure public health, safety and accessibility: the event will be held fully online and tickets will cost $6.32. There will be 4 sessions held so that students can attend when it best fits their schedule.
